В экспериментальных условиях увеличение концентрации алюминия в питьевой воде с 0,15 мг/л до 0,40 мг/л приводит к значительной смертности животных в популяции. Для человека известно, что возрастание примеси алюминия с 0,02 мг/л до 0,11 мг/л увеличивает количество заболевших болезнью Альцгеймера (Good, 1992; Gauthier, 2000).
