New challenges in Supply Chain Management (Ρ€Π΅Ρ„Π΅Ρ€Π°Ρ‚, курсовая, Π΄ΠΈΠΏΠ»ΠΎΠΌ, ΠΊΠΎΠ½Ρ‚Ρ€ΠΎΠ»ΡŒΠ½Π°Ρ)

I n 2007, the president of Steven Roath came to the conclusion that all of the existing experience of the company is not enough to manage supplies in a rapidly changing market. A nd they made a decision on the need to use a competitive system that allows to manage this process.

O f course, the company has actively used various specialized programs for financial departments, etc. T he problem was that they were not automated and not connected sufficiently. Thus, Longs Drug Stores invested in the recently opened company NONSTOP Solutions. T echnologies that have offered the company the technology to optimize the supply chain: forecasting, inventory management, tools for tracking and managing transportation and storage. The shares of promotion of goods were also carefully studied, and the market reaction to them. Based on the materials, a system was created that allows forecasting demand, managing inventory, analyzing information based on data on daily demand.

D aily data on demand are entered in the common Intranet database. B ased on data on daily sales are recorded in a common database from various points, the program allows you to draw preliminary conclusions about what stocks should be spent for more successful sales, as well as predict the necessary replenishment of goods in stores.

R ealizing the fact that the forecasts could never be 100% true, the program included a function that allows taking into account possible errors in forecasting. Today, the scheme used by Longs Drug Stores, causes envy among competitors. 99% of goods are available in all stores all the time. T he level of commodity stocks in warehouses was reduced by 38%, which led to the cost of storage of goods. T.

hanks to all the changes, the companies managed to raise money in Ohio and on the East Coast. This example demonstrates that the use of SCM-solutions can bring real profit to the company. CONCLUSIONManagement of modern supply chains allows to reliably control and direct commodity, as well as interconnected with them information, financial flows from primary suppliers, producers and sellers of goods to the end customers within the agreed time. S upply chain management and logistics can be understood as a tool that provides preparation, execution and completion of commercial transactions. R.

eliable supply chains ensure the continuity and sustainability of the production and marketing of international companies. A well-established and well-functioning logistics system helps an enterprise achieve competitive advantages. T he formation and implementation of a cost-effective system of such a system requires serious managerial efforts, large financial investments in the professional training of personnel and considerable time. A s a rule, enterprises that have achieved strategic advantages due to competence in logistics, determine the nature of competition in their industries. The process of supply chain management is the integration of key business processes and the coordination of counterparty activities to synchronize all activities carried out during production and distribution that add value to the end user and eliminate all inefficient activities. S upply chain management is associated not only with maximizing productivity and profitability, individual business units of the chain, but with optimizing the entire system to achieve higher quality of service at lower total costs. Thus, the main problems of using supply chain management today are fluctuations in demand and the development of some new business environments, such as e-commerce. I.

n view of the novelty of these directions, traditional networks in relation to these areas show their inefficiency. T he main reasons for this are the late technological update and the novelty of the scope of application. Thus, the goals set in the essay are achieved and the tasks are fulfilled. W ere considered features of modern supply chain management; nowadays challenges in supply chain management, challenges in supply chain management for the example of Longs Drug Stores NONSTOP Company.
