Практическая ценность работы. Учитывая высокую эволюционную консервативность гена sbr у Drosophila melanogaster, изучение его функций способствует пониманию механизмов функционирования генов-ортологов у млекопитающих и человека и позволяет определить место продукта исследуемого гена в системах, вовлеченных в регуляцию развития и расхождения хромосом при клеточных делениях.
