В ряде развитых зарубежных стран функционируют ассоциации, общества и фонды по оказанию медико-социальной помощи больным с НКС и их семьям. Эти организации ведут активную исследовательскую работу по поиску новых генов-кандидатов, разработке методов ранней диагностики, большое значение уделяется мероприятиям по социально-медицинской реабилитации больных с НКС.
