Электрическая стимуляция улитки может вызывать головокружение, может оказывать влияние на динамику ушного шума, а при некоторых видах патологии среднего уха (например, при хроническом гнойном среднем отите, при переломах височной кости после черспно-моэговых травм, при анатомических аномалиях внутреннего уха) может приводить к стимуляции лицевого нерва.
