Эффекты ИЛ-5 на эозинофилы опосредуются через его рецепторный аппарат (рецептор ИЛ-5 (ИЛ-5Р)), который является мембранным гликопротеином и состоит из 2-х субъединиц: а-субъединицы, отвечающей за специфичное связывание с ИЛ-5, и Р-субъединицы, необходимой для внутриклеточного проведения сигнала.
