Основное свойство цитотоксичности пероксинитрита — его способность вызывать перекисное окисление в мембранах (Radi et al., 1991), липосомах и липопротеинах, что приводит к образованию гидроперекисей липидов, диеновых конъюгатов и альдегидов (Denicola et al., 2005).
